Is a husband's postponement of Hajj in order to care for his pregnant and sick wife and look after their children considered a legitimate excuse?

A Muslim must hasten to perform the obligatory Hajj whenever they have the ability, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Hasten to Hajj... for indeed, none of you knows what may befall him."

If the husband's travel for Hajj causes definite harm to his wife, he is permitted to delay Hajj until the following year, because in this case, he is not considered able. However, if he can leave someone with her to help her (such as a female relative or a maid), then he must travel for Hajj and not prolong his stay in Mecca afterward. If this is not possible, and the wife needs his presence, then there is no blame upon him for postponing Hajj, and he is excused.
