If the Hajj is voluntary, it can be delayed or forgone. However, if it is obligatory (fard), the preponderant opinion is that it becomes immediately incumbent upon a person once they possess the provisions and means of transport. If delaying the Hajj would not harm his wife or child, the husband must perform Hajj this year and should not delay it out of a desire to take his family with him. If the wife has money for Hajj and there is no harm to her or her infant, or if she can leave the child with someone to care for it, then Hajj becomes obligatory for her. However, if she fears harm to the child, then Hajj is not obligatory for her, and she should remain with the child until it grows older. There is no objection to using menstruation-delaying pills after consulting a doctor.
