What is the ruling on wallpaper that contains drawings of animals or other living beings: should it be completely obliterated, should only the head be obliterated, or should only the features be altered?

It is not permissible to hang pictures of living beings on walls, whether they are real or not. This is due to the prohibition of such acts, and because angels do not enter a house that contains pictures, and because the creators of these pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection and told: "Give life to what you have created." Furthermore, they resemble idols, and their sanctity is removed by effacing the face or whatever renders them lifeless.
