What is the ruling on the commission I receive from some websites for promoting the sale of their goods and convincing customers to buy from them?

It is permissible to take a commission for attracting customers and encouraging them to buy specific goods, provided that the goods are permissible and that the commission does not increase the price of the item to the detriment of the buyer. The broker must also be truthful in describing the goods. This work is considered a form of brokerage and commission (ju'alah).

It is stated in "Fatawa al-Lajnah ad-Daimah" (Fatwas of the Permanent Committee): "It is permissible for the broker (dalal) to take a fee as a known percentage of the final price of the commodity in exchange for his brokerage services, and he collects it from the seller or the buyer, according to the agreement, without injustice or harm."

Therefore, if the manufacturer or merchant gives you a portion of the money for each item sold through you, as an encouragement for your efforts, and this money does not increase the price of the item, then it is permissible and there is no objection to it. However, if this money increases the price of the item for the buyer, then it is not permissible to take it, because it harms the buyer by increasing the price on him.

This applies specifically to brokering specific goods, not to pyramid or network marketing, which is forbidden.
