A wife must obey her husband, and his right takes precedence over the right of her parents, especially if there is a legitimate benefit in obeying him, such as fear for her religious commitment and her marital relationship. It is permissible to maintain ties with her family by phone or messages if there is no fear of harm to her religion or marital relationship from doing so.
