The wife's share of her husband's estate is one-quarter if he has no children. If the deceased has no relatives other than those mentioned, the mother receives one-third of the remainder and the father receives two-thirds.
The wife is entitled to one-quarter of the house owned by her deceased husband if he has no other assets. She must remain in it until her ' (waiting period) expires. She has the right to reside in it even after the 'iddah expires if the husband's parents agree, or she may return to her own parents.
