The question

Does the deterioration of one's faith after Hajj indicate that the Hajj was not accepted? And what about the effect of family problems that occurred during the performance of the obligation on the fate of the Hajj? And how can one get rid of bad habits and return to the sweetness of faith?

The answer

We advise you on several matters: Strive against yourself to abandon forbidden acts and supplicate frequently. Masturbation is forbidden, and its cure lies in fasting, good company, renewing repentance, and occupying your time with beneficial activities. We advise you to marry if you are not already married. Hajj is not invalidated by quarrels or annoyance. There is no sin upon you in these two matters if they occurred out of forgetfulness or ignorance; otherwise, you must repent. The acceptance of acts of obedience is a matter of the unseen, and among the signs of accepted Hajj is that the pilgrim's condition improves thereafter. It is forbidden to abandon your sister, and you must maintain ties with her. The sweetness of faith is attained by being pleased with Allah, with Islam, and with Muhammad as a Prophet, and by performing many supererogatory acts of worship.
