How can the principle of "No soul shall bear the burden of another" be reconciled with the oppressor being held accountable on the Day of Judgment by having his good deeds taken and given to the oppressed, or by having the sins of the oppressed added to his own, and does this include major sins not committed by the oppressor?
On the Day of Judgment, every person will be held accountable for their own sins, and your Lord wrongs no one. No one bears the burden of another.
If a leader of misguidance calls people to disbelief or acts of disobedience, he bears the burden of his call and the burden of those who followed him. However, the follower bears the burden of his own actions. Each of them has his share and portion from his deeds.
As for the bankrupt person on the Day of Judgment, he is one who comes with great good deeds, but he comes having transgressed against people by insulting, slandering, consuming their wealth, shedding blood, and beating others. So, the wronged ones take from his good deeds. If his good deeds are exhausted, then some of their sins are taken and cast upon him, and then he is cast into the Fire.
This does not contradict the Almighty's saying: ﴿And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another﴾ [Fatir: 18]; because he was punished for his own actions and injustice, and not for an offense committed by someone else. This is a severe warning against aggression towards creation and indicates the necessity of fulfilling people's rights in this worldly life.
