What should a mother do who vowed to visit Sayyid al-Badawi and hold a night gathering "for the people of God" upon her son's recovery: should she hold a "hadra" night, or give money to the needy, or offer a sacrifice?

It is impermissible to fulfill this vow, and the mother is only required to repent, because the nights of the hadarat (gatherings/presences) are usually dominated by reprehensible acts such as extremism concerning the deceased, seeking help from them, and using musical instruments. The visit of women to graves is a matter of dispute between being disliked (makruh) and forbidden (haram), and women's visit to Al-Badawi's tomb is forbidden due to the presence of polytheism (shirk) with Allah.

Therefore, the woman can give charity to the poor or slaughter an animal and distribute it among them without organizing the night vigil or the hadra, and she must refrain from visiting Al-Badawi's tomb.
