What is the ruling on informing your husband about the actions of your brother, who mocks you and relays information about you to his wife, who dislikes you, so that your husband may be cautious when speaking in front of them? And should you conceal your affairs from everyone, including your mother, while informing your husband of this, out of fear of the evil eye and envy?

We ask Allah to heal you. There is no harm in your request not to inform those whose envy or dislike you fear about your news. You can inform your mother while asking her to keep it secret. Nevertheless, we caution that exaggerating the fear of the evil eye and envy might be misplaced. You should be moderate and balanced in matters, and avoid accusing anyone of dislike or envy unless there is strong evidence, in order to avoid the forbidden ill-suspicion.
