What is the ruling on marrying a woman who imitates men by wearing trousers?
It is advisable to choose a religious wife who fears Allah and observes Him in her life, dress, and worship, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "A woman is married for four reasons: for her wealth, for her lineage, for her beauty, and for her religion. So choose the religious woman, and you will prosper." One should not marry a woman who imitates men in her walk, dress, voice, and going out, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The Messenger of Allah cursed men who imitate women and women who imitate men," unless the husband can change her. And a woman wearing trousers is forbidden if she wears them in front of people, but it is permissible if she wears them for her husband in her home for adornment, provided that it is not an act of imitation.
