What is the ruling on a woman wearing trousers in Islam, and what are the conditions for it to be permissible?

A woman is not permitted to wear trousers and go out in them, due to the resemblance it creates to men. However, if they are worn under loose, concealing clothes, then they assist in concealment. Wearing trousers without such cover reveals the body's contours and causes temptation. A woman is commanded to conceal her body with clothing that neither describes nor reveals it. The general conditions for a woman's clothing are that it must be concealing, thick, not transparent, loose, not tight, and it must not resemble the clothing of men or disbelieving women. When going out, it must not be a garment of fame, nor an adornment in itself, nor perfumed or scented.
