Are recurring embarrassing situations in public caused by sins?

Embarrassing situations that harm the soul are calamities that occur due to sins, for Allah Almighty says: "And whatever calamity befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned, and He pardons much." A calamity includes every disliked thing that afflicts a person. As for what does not reach the level of a calamity, Allah knows best His wisdom. A servant must be patient in the face of calamities, trust in Allah, supplicate, repent, seek forgiveness, and be conscious of Allah. Sins remove blessings and bring misfortunes, for no affliction descends except due to a sin, and none is removed except through repentance, as Ali ibn Abi Talib said. For Allah does not change His favor upon a people until they change what is within themselves.
