How did you come to know your Lord through your Lord?

The servant's knowledge of his Lord and His Oneness in worship is the very purpose of creation. This is achieved through contemplation of God's recited verses (the Qur'an) and His cosmic signs, with a heart illuminated by the light of revelation. One contemplates God's attributes, His names, His wondrous handiwork in His creations, and His uniqueness in managing the affairs of His creation. God can be known by His having introduced Himself to His servants, by His combining of opposites, and through His signs and creations, such as the heavens and the earth and all that is within them. Furthermore, it is through contemplation of His management of affairs, such as the overturning of resolve and the annulling of determination.
