How do we truly know Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, with a true knowing?

The more a servant comes to know his Lord, His Names, and Attributes, the more his love for Him increases, his fear of His punishment intensifies, and his desire for His reward grows. The greatest way to come to know Allah is through the Book of Allah and the authentic Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Qur'an is the Word of Allah, and in it, Allah manifests Himself to His servants through His Attributes.

When Allah manifests Himself through the Attributes of awe and majesty, the servant submits, and his soul is humbled. When He manifests Himself through the Attributes of beauty and perfection, the servant's heart is filled with His love. When He manifests Himself through the Attributes of mercy and benevolence, hope and optimism are inspired. When He manifests Himself through the Attributes of justice and retribution, the commanding self is subdued. When He manifests Himself through the Attributes of command and prohibition, the power of compliance and execution is awakened. When He manifests Himself through the Attributes of hearing, sight, and knowledge, shyness is inspired. When He manifests Himself through the Attributes of sufficiency and support, reliance and delegation are inspired. And when He manifests Himself through the Attributes of might and pride, He imbues the soul with humility and brokenness.

Thus, Allah makes Himself known to the servant through His Divine Attributes (Uluhiyyah), which necessitates love and longing, and through His Attributes of Lordship (Rububiyyah), which necessitates reliance and neediness. The servant must witness Allah's Lordship in His Divinity, His praise in His dominion, His might in His forgiveness, His wisdom in His decree, His favor in His tribulation, His giving in His withholding, His benevolence and kindness in His self-subsistence, His justice in His retribution, His generosity and nobility in His forgiveness and concealment, and His wisdom and favor in His command and prohibition.

If you were to ponder the Qur'an without distortion, it would show you a Self-Subsisting King above His heavens, managing the affairs of His servants, commanding and prohibiting, being pleased and angered, giving and withholding, described by every perfection and free from every flaw.
