Is the love of Allah acquired through a correct understanding of Allah and His attributes and sincerity in applying them, and does a great reward result from that?

Servants are naturally inclined to love their Creator, and this foundation of love is born with every human being. However, this love increases and becomes firmly rooted through knowing Allah by His names and attributes, reflecting on His creations, and contemplating His blessings. This is the obligatory, faith-based love upon which reward and punishment are based. Among the signs of true love for Allah is following and obeying the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him.
