What is the ruling on urinating in the designated men's resting area within a mixed ablution facility, and is the ablution facility then considered a restroom where it is impermissible to offer or return greetings, speak, or say "Bismillah" for wudu?
If there is no barrier between the place of ablution and the latrine, then they are treated as one place, and the remembrance of Allah Almighty therein is disliked out of reverence for Him. It has been reported that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to remove his ring (on which "Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah" was engraved) when entering the latrine. And it is obligatory for one who is relieving himself to conceal himself from the eyes of people, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to move away from sight when relieving himself.
