Are there signs indicating that Allah has abandoned a servant to his own devices?

If God leaves a servant to his own devices, this is abandonment, whereas divine enabling (tawfiq) means that God does not leave him to himself, but rather assists him. Among the signs of abandonment are that God gives the servant a choice concerning himself, leading to his ruin; that sins become easy for him despite his dislike for them; that performing good deeds becomes difficult for him; that the door of humility and dependence on God closes; and that he delays repentance after sinning. Therefore, a servant who finds ease in sin, postpones repentance, trivializes his sins, follows his desires, and becomes heedless of his Lord, has been abandoned and left to his own devices.
