When does Allah abandon His servant to himself, or what are the sins that cause Allah to leave His servant to himself?
Some sins can cause Allah to abandon His servant and leave him to his own devices, such as injustice in judgment. In the Hadith, it is stated: "Indeed, Allah is with the judge as long as he does not oppress; if he oppresses, He abandons him to himself." Similarly, a general lack of piety can lead to Allah forsaking His servant, for piety is a cause for Allah's aid and victory. Whoever does not fear Allah, He abandons him, as Sheikh Al-Sa'di said. Among the causes of abandonment is also inclining towards the worldly life and following one's desires, as recounted in the story of the man who shed himself of Allah's signs. Allah the Almighty said: "And if We had willed, We could have elevated him thereby, but he adhered to the earth and followed his desire." Therefore, a servant must beware of sins and disobedience.
