Is it permissible for someone whose foot has been amputated and who faces difficulty in movement, to pray Jumu'ah (Friday prayer) at home behind the imam of the mosque, if his home is close to the mosque and he can follow the prayer?

Following the Imam is not permissible, according to the majority of scholars, if the follower is outside the mosque and cannot see the Imam or any of the congregants, and the rows are not connected. However, the Hanbalis have two opinions on this issue: some say it is valid, and some say it is not. As for the Malikis, it is valid according to them except for Friday prayers. Abu Hanifa considers it absolutely valid. The preponderant opinion is that following is not valid for a congregant outside the mosque, even if he sees the Imam, if there is space for him inside the mosque.

The obligation of Friday prayer is waived for the sick person who would be harmed by attending it.
