What are the various ways of reciting the Basmala between the middle of the surahs, and is there a 'wasl' (joining) method that combines them, and what are the other possible ways?

Researchers have not found any statements from Tajwid and Qira'at scholars regarding thehan (rules) of Isti'adha (seeking refuge in Allah) and Basmala (reciting "Bismillah") when transitioning between the middles of surahs. However, some contemporary specialists, such as Sheikh Hussam Al-Kilani, have stipulated that transitioning between the middles of surahs should be done with a slight pause, without Isti'adha or Basmala. This can be inferred from the Prophet's Khutbat al-Hajah (Sermon of Need), where the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, recited verses from different surahs within it without mentioning Isti'adha or Basmala.
