What is the ruling on a husband who has not had intercourse with his wife for five years due to chronic diabetes?

If a man is unable to consummate his marriage with his wife due to diabetes, there is no sin upon him. However, scholars have differed regarding whether his wife has the option [to annul the marriage] due to this inability:

1. She has the option if the inability occurred after the marriage contract.

2. She does not have the option if the inability occurred after the marriage contract.

However, if the defect existed prior to the marriage contract and the wife was not content with it, then she has the option.
