What is the ruling on a suspended divorce prior to the marriage contract, and does the condition take effect if it occurs after the marriage?

Divorce is valid only when pronounced by the husband. Therefore, it is not valid before the marriage contract is finalized, whether immediate or conditional. If a man makes a woman's divorce conditional on an event and then marries her, the divorce does not occur when the condition is met, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There is no divorce concerning that which one does not own."
