Does pulling the skin from the lips or fingers necessitate a compensatory offering (fidyah) during the state of ihram?

There is no impediment for a pilgrim in ihram to perform cupping (hijama) as long as it does not involve cutting independent hair or breaking a nail. This is the view of Shafi'i and the majority of scholars. Ibn Umar and Malik, however, hold that it is not permissible except in cases of necessity. It is also permissible for a pilgrim in ihram to perform phlebotomy (bloodletting), lance a boil, bandage a wound, set a fracture, and extract a tooth if it is causing pain.
