Is it considered an act of disobedience for a child to prevent his father from taking a second wife if the father lacks the financial means to do so?

The father's desire to marry another woman does not diminish his religious piety or character, as the permissibility of polygyny is not conditioned on a defect in the first wife. However, justice between wives is required. The father's inability to bear the financial burden of marriage is not a valid reason to prevent him, and preventing him from marrying while he is distressed by it is considered an act of disobedience (to parents). As for his neglect of household matters and his wife, he should be advised gently and courteously. If he sees his father doing something he dislikes, he should inform him without violence, abuse, or harsh words. It is permissible to advise him to delay marriage or to abandon it if there is no significant benefit in it, or if its harm outweighs its benefit.
