ما هي الأعمال التي تجعل المسلم في منزلة غير المقصر وغير الغافل، وهل يوجد معيار لذلك؟

The greatest thing that saves a servant from heedlessness is persistent remembrance of Allah Almighty, and this is done with both the heart and the tongue, which is the most complete form of remembrance. Allah commanded His Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, and with him his nation, to remember Allah within themselves, humbly and with fear, and without raising the voice, in the mornings and evenings, and not to be heedless.

The remembrance that removes heedlessness includes remembrance during prayer and outside of it. The minimum that removes heedlessness is performing the five daily prayers with humility and supplication, for prayer forbids indecency and evil.

Whoever prays with ten verses from the Quran will not be recorded among the heedless. And whoever neglects prayer falls into the heedlessness that is threatened with torment. Allah Almighty says: (So woe to those who pray, [But] who are heedless of their prayer).

A Muslim becomes one of those who remember Allah much by consistently observing the prescribed remembrances in the morning and evening and at various times and in different situations. The more a Muslim increases in voluntary remembrance, the further he moves away from heedlessness, and the ultimate goal of this is to resemble the angels who remember Allah in all their states.
