What is the wisdom behind forgetting the oath we swore to Allah that we are His servants and that we would worship Him?

Allah informed us that He took a covenant from the progeny of Adam to worship Him alone and not associate partners with Him. This is affirmed by the texts of revelation. A servant is born acknowledging Him, but then is influenced by reality. The fitra (innate disposition) is sound, like an eye that sees the sun unless something obstructs it. The soundness of the heart and its acceptance of the truth is Islam, even if a child is not born knowing it. This scientific and practical power that intrinsically demands Islam is the fitra of Allah. When people deviated, Allah sent messengers to remind them of His covenant, warning and giving glad tidings. So, those who followed, followed, and those who went astray, went astray. The devils will disavow their misguidance on the Day of Judgment.
