What is the ruling on portraying the Prophets, peace be upon them, in television series, and what is the role of Muslims and scholars regarding this phenomenon?

Maryam (peace be upon her) is the best of all women in the world. Allah chose her and purified her. Therefore, it is not permissible for an actress to play her role, due to the prevalent lack of commitment to Allah's commands and their involvement in forbidden acts among actresses. It is also not permissible for a Muslim to watch such series, due to the mixing (of genders) and the impermissibility of portraying prophets and companions. Muslims must condemn this evil.
