Are the cartoon images that are displayed unlawful (haram), and is it unlawful (haram) to attend a course to learn how to draw them?

It is permissible to watch animated films if they are free from Sharia prohibitions. However, if they contain prohibitions such as promoting deviant ideas, or nudity, or music, then it is forbidden to watch them. Scholar Al-Uthaymeen held that there is hesitation regarding cartoon images in human form, but the stronger opinion is that they are not to be equated with real images. As for non-human forms, there is no harm in them as long as they are not accompanied by evil or do not distract from an obligation.
