Is the luxury with which the questioner has surrounded himself and his family considered a forbidden extravagance?

Extravagance and squandering are forbidden in Islamic law, for Allah Almighty says: "Indeed, the squanderers have always been brothers of the devils, and Satan has always been ungrateful to his Lord" and His saying: "And do not be extravagant. Indeed, He does not like the extravagant." So, if what you do in your home, food, and drink aligns with the definition of extravagance and squandering, then it is not permissible, and you must cease it and repent. However, if it does not reach this extent, then it is not extravagance. Nevertheless, economy and avoiding luxury are desirable, for "modesty is part of faith," which means being simple in dress and not being overly elaborate. It is important to note that the limit of extravagance varies according to a person's wealth or poverty.
