The deceased left behind only a paternal niece.

If the deceased left only a sister's daughter and has no 'asabah (agnate heirs), then the sister's daughter inherits the entire estate, because she is from the Dhat al-Arham (relatives by blood through females), and thus takes the place of her mother. It is advisable to refer the matter to a Sharia court, as inheritance matters are serious and complex.
