Does a long train on a wedding dress fall under the hadith: "Allah will not look at one who drags his garment out of pride"?

It is Islamically forbidden to lengthen one's garment out of arrogance. However, it is permissible to lengthen it for the purpose of covering, up to a cubit, which is two spans of a moderate-sized hand. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) initially permitted the Mothers of the Believers to lengthen their garments by a span, and then increased it by another span, making it a cubit. This length is permissible for women, but not for men.

Authentic hadiths indicate the permissibility for women to lengthen their lower garments by a cubit, and no more. Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) asked about women's garments after the Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade dragging garments out of arrogance. He said, "They may lower it a span." She replied, "Then their feet will be uncovered." He said, "Then they may lower it a cubit, and not exceed that."

The permission to lengthen a woman's garment was for the purpose of covering, not for adornment, pride, or arrogance, as arrogance is forbidden for both men and women alike.

There are differing opinions regarding the ruling on a woman lengthening all her garments. The apparent view is that it is restricted to lengthening only one garment, while the rest remain subject to the original prohibition, due to the extravagance and waste involved in exceeding that. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Eat, give charity, and dress, without extravagance or arrogance."
