Should I continue sponsoring the orphan, or is it more deserving to repay my debt and help my father, given my financial hardship?

Sponsoring an orphan is one of the greatest acts of drawing closer to Allah, and it is best to continue doing so as long as it does not cause you to neglect your other duties. However, paying off debts and spending on poor parents takes precedence over voluntary orphan sponsorship. This is because providing for poor parents is an obligation upon a capable son by consensus.
