What is the ruling on hymen reconstruction for the purpose of pleasing the husband, and is it permissible for a man to force his wife to do so, and what is the ruling on doing it for a Thayyib (a woman who has been previously married)?
It was previously explained that hymen reconstruction surgery is impermissible. The ruling does not change if a female doctor performs it, and the matter becomes even more abhorrent if a man performs it. The prohibition is not only due to deception and fraud, but also because it involves uncovering severe 'awrah (intimate parts) without necessity.
It is not permissible for a husband to order his wife to undergo this procedure, nor is it permissible for the wife to obey him in that, because obedience is only in what is good and lawful. Likewise, it is not permissible for a previously married woman who wishes to remarry to do so, for all of this is from the forbidden embellishment of Satan, and Allah has warned us against following his footsteps.
