Traveling to non-Muslim countries for residence is impermissible except in cases of extreme necessity, out of fear of corrupting one's creed and being influenced by their morals and dealings. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, disassociated himself from those who reside among the polytheists. However, traveling for a need, such as trade, seeking knowledge unavailable in Muslim lands, treatment, or inviting people to Allah, is permissible if it adheres to the Sharia-compliant regulations.
