The question

Is it permissible for me to falsely claim that I was driving the car at the time of the accident to enable the deceased driver's family to receive the insurance money? And can I give the money that the company took as compensation for goods sold before the accident to the deceased's family as charity?

The answer

It is forbidden to lie to the company by falsely claiming to be driving, as this is deceit and fraud. If a false oath is added to it, the sin increases. If this leads to unlawfully taking others' money, the matter is more severe. The money, which is rightfully the company's, must be returned to them. If it is impossible to return it, then it should be given as charity to the poor or spent on the welfare of Muslims. It is permissible to give it as charity to the family of the deceased if they are poor.
