Is it permissible to lie by saying "the car hit me" in order to receive insurance money?
It is forbidden to consume people's wealth through deception and lies, as Allah Almighty says: "And do not consume your properties among yourselves wrongfully." As for the damage and disability resulting from avoiding an accident, the driver is not obliged to compensate for it, and thus the insuring entity is not obliged to do so either. Therefore, what the lawyer requested, involving lying, is not permissible, because lying is only permitted to defend a legitimate matter that its owner could not achieve except through lying.
