The answer

It should be known that some people's assumption that Islamic historical films do not convey erroneous ideas and perceptions, or that they do not attribute false matters to Islam, is a fallacy and a lack of insight, due to the misconceptions and distortions of facts that these films often contain.

As for the ruling on depicting the Companions, many scholars have issued fatwas prohibiting the depiction of senior Companions; out of reverence for them and to preserve their status. As for depicting others, they stipulated that the actor must be characterized by good morals and uprightness, and this condition is difficult to fulfill, as the actor may shake hands with women and be alone with them.

Therefore, a Muslim must avoid watching or acquiring these films due to the falsification and misleading content they contain, and their inclusion of female images that are not befitting of a Muslim woman. Producing them in the manner described is even more severely and gravely prohibited, due to the audacity of their producers towards the esteemed status of the noble Companions and their deliberate fabrication of lies against them.
