Is there a supplication for memorizing the Qur'an, and what is the method for memorizing it?

There is no known supplication for memorizing the Qur’an except for a hadith narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, which he taught to Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, but its authenticity is questionable. Ibn Kathir described it as strange, even denounced (munkar). Sayyid Muhammad Rashid Rida said that its style does not resemble the style of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, nor Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, nor the style of their era. Al-Dhahabi described it as denounced and anomalous (munkar shadhdh).
