What is the ruling on a woman praying over the Janazah (funeral) of a non-mahram man, a mahram (unmarriageable kin) man, or a woman? And what are the cases and controls that permit this? Is the supplication for entering and exiting the mosque recited when bringing the Janazah into it? From where should the Janazah be placed for the prayer over it (to the right of the row, in the middle of the row)? Should we pray over it after the obligatory prayer or the Sunnah prayer? Is it permissible to pray over it an hour before the obligatory prayer? What is the ruling on delaying the prayer over it until the obligatory prayer or after it, once its washing is complete? And how many people should carry the Janazah?
It is permissible for a woman to pray over the deceased, and she receives the same reward as a man.
It is legislated to recite the authentic supplications when going to the mosque with the deceased, and when entering and exiting the mosque.
Bringing the deceased into the mosque from the right side of the row is preferable, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, preferred to start from the right in all his affairs. However, there is no objection to bringing it in from any other side.
If the funeral prayer is present and the time for an obligatory prayer has come, the obligatory prayer is performed first, except for Fajr and Asr, because there is no prohibited time for prayer after them.
If the funeral prayer is present and the time for the obligatory prayer has not yet come, the funeral prayer is performed first and not delayed.
The funeral prayer takes precedence over a supererogatory prayer if there is a fear of missing it.
It is permissible to carry the deceased with any number of people as needed.
