Is the method of treating liver disease by placing a pigeon's rear on the patient's navel until the pigeon dies permissible, and then repeating that with other pigeons, and is that considered taking the life of an animal towards which we have been commanded to show kindness?

The Sharia (definition) commanded seeking treatment, and Allah has sent down a cure for every disease. Treatment occurs in one of three ways: Sharia-based (such as ruqyah (definition) and honey), experimental (proven by people of knowledge and trust), or scientific research. It has not been scientifically proven that placing a pigeon on a patient's body is a method of treatment; rather, it is superstition and deception. Doctors have proven that the death of the pigeon in this alleged "healing process" was due to hand pressure on it.
