Seeking knowledge is a great virtue, especially the Holy Quran, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The best among you is he who learns the Quran and teaches it." The intended meaning of the verses of rulings (ayat al-ahkam) are the Quranic verses that contain Islamic legal rulings, and they may amount to five hundred verses. Scholars like Al-Jassas, Ibn Al-Arabi, Al-Kiya Al-Harrasi, and Muhammad Ali Al-Sabouni have dedicated specific interpretations to them. It is advisable for anyone who has memorized the Quran to begin with a short exegesis, such as Tafsir al-Jalalayn, and then gradually progress to other interpretations, accompanied by a shaykh who can guide them and clarify what is unclear, as seeking knowledge is a gradual process.
