Is a person's display of their abilities in response to others' negative perception of them, knowing that they possess these abilities, considered blameworthy boasting or arrogance in Islamic law?

Feelings of depression and frustration resulting from others' criticism can be addressed through several means: First: Strengthening self-confidence. Confidence enables a person to benefit from constructive criticism and disregard negative criticism, and not to be personally affected by destructive criticism. Second: Realizing that people's harm is extensive, and even Allah, the Almighty, was not spared from human tongues, so how can a servant ask that for himself? The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "No one is more patient than Allah concerning the harm He hears: They attribute a son to Him, yet He grants them well-being and provides for them." Third: Occupying oneself with achieving success in knowledge and self-development, which distracts a person from people's sayings and proves his success and excellence. For the strong believer is more beloved to Allah, as the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, and there is good in both. Strive for that which benefits you, seek help from Allah, and do not lose heart." Fourth: Displaying abilities and skills should be done when there is a need and an appropriate situation, not with the intention of convincing people, but because the situation necessitates it. As for pretense and artificiality out of place, it is blameworthy and indicates a lack of self-confidence and repels others.
