Does a person's awareness of his tremendous abilities, energies, and skills mean that he is arrogant?
If a talented person considers himself superior to others, or believes that his talent originates from himself and is not a blessing from Allah, then he is arrogant. Everything a person becomes arrogant about is blameworthy, because it deludes him with false greatness. It is not an act of gratitude to Allah for His blessings to be arrogant. Allah bestowed upon many of the righteous predecessors an abundance of knowledge, physical strength, and wealth, and they thanked Allah and were humble, in compliance with the words of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Indeed, Allah has revealed to me that you should be humble so that no one boasts over another and no one oppresses another" (Narrated by Muslim). Thus, Allah elevated them and increased His blessings upon them.
