What is the comprehensive and complete meaning of arrogance and the arrogant, and is it he who shows off to people with what he has?

Arrogance is "batr al-haqq" (rejecting the truth) and "ghamṭ an-nas" (disdaining people), meaning to repel and deny it out of haughtiness and tyranny, and to belittle people. Its cause may be status, wealth, lineage, or it may be without any specific reason. An example of this is the poor, arrogant provider whom the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, threatened that Allah would neither speak to him nor look at him on the Day of Resurrection.
