How can parents be encouraged to marry off their children in light of the difficult economic conditions in occupied Palestine, and to limit the spread of immorality and protect youth from deviations and dangers that threaten their future?

A father is not permitted to prevent his son from marrying if the son is capable of bearing the responsibilities of marriage, especially if he fears falling into temptation, for marriage then becomes obligatory upon him. The son can marry without his father's permission if the father does not respond to attempts at persuasion, while striving to please the father after the marriage.

As for exorbitant dowries, they contravene the guidance of Islam and lead to detrimental consequences such as spinsterhood and burdening married couples with debts, which might prompt the husband to harm his wife upon divorce. Indeed, it was part of the Prophet's (peace be upon him) and the Companions' guidance to facilitate dowries.
