Is it permissible to go for Umrah with the intention of supplicating and seeking relief from worries, provision, and betterment of one's condition, while feeling that drawing closer to Allah in His House has a special significance, even though Allah is present everywhere?

Traveling to perform Umrah with the intention of supplicating and seeking mercy from Allah Almighty is permissible and desirable. The traveler performing Umrah benefits from several reasons for the acceptance of supplications, including: the journey itself, Umrah being a minor Hajj, and drinking from Zamzam water. Two matters must be noted: First: It is impermissible for a woman to travel except with a mahram or her husband, unless it is for an obligatory Hajj or Umrah, in which case she may travel with trustworthy company if she cannot find a mahram or a husband. Second: Allah Almighty is present everywhere with His knowledge and power, but the belief that He is present everywhere in His essence is false. Allah Almighty is above His Throne, distinct from His creation.
