What is the ruling on a woman wearing the hijab being the facilitator of cultural activities in Canada, in the presence of men, women, and a group of non-Muslims, in order to reduce the negative perception of Muslim women?

The fundamental principle is for a woman to remain in her home, as Allah Almighty says: "And abide in your houses." However, her going out for a need is permissible, provided she adheres to the Islamic guidelines such as wearing the hijab, modesty, avoiding seclusion (khalwa), not speaking in a soft or alluring manner (khudoo' bil-qawl), and avoiding prohibited mixing (ikhtilaat). Covering the face and hands is obligatory, and speaking with men is permissible provided there is no khudoo' bil-qawl. As for mixing, if it involves separating men and women in the same place, there is no harm; however, intermingling and physical contact are forbidden. Finally, a Muslim woman should not be influenced by the pressure of others to change the rulings of her religion.
