What is the ruling on a husband saying to his wife, "I have divorced you for a thousand [dinars]" if she does not accept, does the divorce occur according to the Maliki school of thought?

The aforementioned divorce does not take effect because khulʿ (divorce at the wife's instance, with compensation paid by her) requires the agreement of both offer and acceptance between the spouses. If the wife does not accept the offer, she remains a wife. In the Mudawwanah, it is narrated from Malik that if a woman leaves her session before accepting her husband's offer, "You are divorced for this slave of yours," and then later says, "Take the slave and I am divorced," the divorce does not take effect unless she accepted before they parted. Al-Dasuqi said: If a man says to his wife, "If you give me what I will khulʿ you for, then you are divorced," or "then I have khulʿ-ed you," then if she brings the customary khulʿ payment, the khulʿ becomes binding on him. However, if she brings less than that (something trivial), the khulʿ is not binding on him.
