ما حكم علكة اكسترا؟

The default rule for things is permissibility, based on Allah's saying: "It is He who created for you all of that which is on the earth." [2:29] And the saying of Ibn Abbas: "What Allah has made lawful in His Book is lawful, and what He has made unlawful is unlawful, and what He has remained silent about is pardoned," basing his argument on Allah's saying: "Say, 'I find not within that which was revealed to me [anything] forbidden to one who eats it, except that it be a dead animal or blood spilled forth or the flesh of swine — for indeed, it is unclean — or what is impiety, [that is] dedicated to other than Allah. But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit], then indeed, your Lord is Forgiving and Merciful.'" [6:145] Therefore, if no harm, impurity, or intoxication is known in chewing gum, then it remains permissible.
